{The scene opens inside the same training down we've seen before. Roxi and Keira are in their workout gear, both with their powers raised. They look at each other and Roxi looks at Keira and motions for her to take a second before they begin.}
Roxi – I know you want to help. I do appreciate it. But I promise I can do this on my own. I just feel like if I don't, then what did I accomplish, you know?
Keira – I know...but I sense something...something I haven't sensed in you before....
Roxi – Maybe, maybe not. I just... I have a lot of emotions right now. In a way, this can be theraputic. But I need you to give me everything you have, Keira. I don't want you holding back because it's me. I don't need that with such an important match coming up.
Keira – Oh...I don't plan on it.....
{Keira screams as her hair changes color. In mere moments, she has turned into her Super Human Blue form as she looks at Roxi}
Keira – You don't want me holding back? You got your wish....
Roxi – No, that is you holding back. You know you can't fight like that for a long period of time. You don't have control yet.
Keira – I know....it'll be enough.
{Keira quickly rushes, not giving Roxi enough time as she throws a few punches to Roxi Roxi has to dodge, using her speed to move away, but Keira's punches get faster and Roxi, not being as overly powerful as Keira, blocks, but Keira punches through the block and knocks Roxi over. Roxi quickly bounds up and charges, but Keira dodges. The two begin to swing at each other, and Roxi manages to hit Keira with a knee, and axe handle to the back, dropping Keira to a knee, but she quickly rolls away, Wanting to avoid a grappling match, Keira quickly stands and fires several evergy blasts, which Roxi dodges and rushes Keira, who catches her punches and the two lock hands in a sort-of test of strength. Keira uses her strength to overpower Roxi, but Roxi unleashes a headbutt that stuns Keira, then pulls Keira in with a sharp elbow. Keira however, still has a hold of Roxi's hand and uses it to swing her into the wall of the training dome. Keira rushes in but Roxi recovers and sidesteps Keira, and grabs her from behind in an attempt to subdue her, but Keira again uses her strength in her super human form to run Roxi into the wall repeatedly. Roxi fights back with an elbow to the collarbone of Keira and kicks her away, but Keira flips and lands on her feet. Both women are now sweaty and a little bloody as they stare at one another.}
Keira – GET UP! I said get up! You want them to walk over you? DO YOU!? You've been in this funk for so long. COME ON! Show me that energy!
{Keira rushes, kneeing Roxi in the stomach}
Keira – SHOW ME!
{Roxi increases her energy to a level above what she had, but still not quite as powerful as Keira. She rushes, but Keira is able to block and nail Roxi again in the face, but it only stumbles her back, showing the increase in power. Roxi is able to tackle Keira and trys to pin her down, but Keria flips it over and is on top. She tries to pin down Roxi, but Roxi grabs Keira's wrists and headbutts her again.. Roxi fires two quick blows to the stomach to push Keira off, but Keira grabs Roxi's wrists and begins swinging her around, again sending her into the wall and Roxi looks hurt. Roxi slowly gets up and looks angry, pushing her power upwards again. Keira stands ready as Roxi charges swinging with powerful strikes that Keira feels, even as she blocks. Keira is able to avoid a strike and land a solid blow to Roxi's temple and then more stomach strikes then send Roxi back against the wall. Roxi slides down, but shakes off the attack. Looking to increase her power more, but Keira notices she Roxi is breathing heavier than normal. Keira gets a concerned look on her face. }
Keira – Roxi... Are you okay? Maybe... maybe we should take a break…
Roxi – NO! <huff> I'm... <huff> Fine…
{ Roxi increases her strength level to a point that Keira had only sensed, but had never actually seen. Still, she was still in a more powerful form, but it was increasingly worrisome that Roxi was panting heavily and appeared to be pushing herself way too far. Roxi didn't give Keira time to think as she rushed her again. Her blows narrowly missing as Keria dodged, Roxi continued to press forward but was noticably slowing down. Keira dodged another attack, landed a few blows, punching and kicking as Roxi couldn't keep up the pace. She knocked Roxi down again, and looked at her, she too, was getting tired with the ultimate form.}
Keira – I think that's <huff> enough.. <huff>
{Roxi slowly got to her feet, and the look of anger and frustration had boiled over. She glared at Keira and assumed a fighting stance.}
Roxi – So <huff> YOU THINK I'M WEAK! <huff> THAT I... CAN'T DO THIS?!
Keira – No... I..
{Roxi pushes herself to a level that Keira has never felt before. If Roxi was at full strength it probably would have been higher, but it's the level fluctuates wildly as Roxi grows even more powerful.
}Keira – There... form.... Three…
{Roxi raises and raises, but the energy depletes rapidly as Roxi rushes Keira so fast Keira had no time to block or even react, and tackles her to the ground. But it's the look in Roxi's eyes that worry Keira more, it's a look that Roxi wasn't even in her body anymore, A look of pure anger. But after only a few seconds, Roxi reverts back to normal, breathing heavily and barely able to move. She had no energy left and Keira quickly powered down herself and held onto Roxi.}
Keira – Roxi! Roxi! Can you hear me!? Say something!
Roxi – Have to... <huff> keep... going... <huff>
Keira – No. We're done for now. You're not dying on me
{Keria helps Roxi up, but Roxi pushes her away and slaps the ground in frustration.}Roxi – Not... good enough...
Keira – If you don't stop right now, Roxi Noelle Johnson. I'll knock you out!
{Keira helps up Roxi as she leans her against the wall}
Keira – Understand?
Roxi – We... have to go again... just give me a minute…
Keira – I said no!
Roxi – You... don't... think I can do it... do you?
Keira – I know you can. But you can't push yourself like that.
{ Roxi punches the wall in anger, but she knows Keira is right. She stumbles as Keira helps her out of the training dome and pushes a fun buttons so it goes into repair mode to fix the damages as Keira helps Roxi sit down.}
Roxi – I... I'm sorry.
Keira – It's ok. But I was right. You have a third form now. But you're at the stage I was when I first got it. You can't control it right now
Roxi – I will, but this… I need to be better.
Keira – You need to rest. This obsession is starting to scare me. Lay down.
{Keira helps Roxi lay down and kisses her forehead before leaving and heading upstairs. She pulls out her phone once there and dials.}
Keira – Hey…. Are you busy? I need your help. Thanks…. I’ll be waiting.
{The scene reopens with Keira waiting and there’s a knock at the door. Keira opens it and Amy Jo Smyth is standing there, a curious look on her face.}
AJS – I have arrived!
{Smyth throws her arms out in a grand gesture to present herself to her friend}.
Keira – Hi, AJ. Listen, I need your help with this. Roxi is… Roxi needs someone to talk to. She won’t listen to me when it comes to this match that’s upcoming and about this whole… you know, not being old thing. Anytime I try to help her, she thinks I think she’s too old or not what she used to be. She sees any attempt to help her as a sign of getting old. I’m getting worried that she’s going to do something drastic and get herself hurt.
AJS – She needs someone to talk to or she needs someone to talk to her?
Keira – Either. Or Both.
AJS – No matter. Make some tea because we about to have a little sit and bitch.
Keira – I… will make some tea if that’s what you prefer. Just, head down to basement and take the long hallway down to the training room. She should be resting down there. I’ll bring the tea when it’s ready.
AJS – It was a joke, my friend. No tea required but I'll never turn down a beer.
{With that, AJS departs and finds the training room. She almost all but jumps into the room and shouts.}
AJS – The doctor is in!
{Roxi was already up however, starting to run on the treadmill in the training area, but she turned to see AJ shouting at her. A brief frown appeared on her face but she stopped the treadmill and turned her attention to AJ.}
Roxi – Hello AJ. What brings you down here?
AJS – I'm returning a favor… You don't seem happy to see me.
Roxi – Well, I am in the middle of this training, but I can spare a few minutes.
AJS – I feel so… loved.
{Smyth moves over to the mat, throws her shoes clean across the room, and stands there, at the ready. }
AJS – I'm not really dressed for it, but let's train. C'mon. Train with the real old lady in the room.
Roxi – You’re not old, AJ. But I kind of need Keira’s help with training to get where I need to go. I don’t want to hurt you.
AJS – Pardon me, young lady… You think you can hurt me?
{Smyth eggs her on with her hands.}
AJS – Let's go. Don't make me come over there and get you.
Roxi – AJ… Seriously… superpowers. Normal training isn’t cutting it anymore. I need to get to a different level. It’s just…
AJS – It's just nothing!
{Smyth charges, knocks Roxi off the treadmill, and traps her with a headlock.}
AJS – I don't want to hear no bullshit from you… You don't need your fucking superpowers. Besides, that's cheating and you know it.
{Smyth wrenches harder.}
AJS – Normal training isn't going to cut it when you've already psyched yourself outta shit.
{ Roxi pushes off Aj to get out of the headlock. A more annoyed than anything look on her face.}
Roxi – I’m not psyched out! I know that this match is important. I need to win it. I need to win, and prove everybody wrong. They keep doubting me, people keep talking about how I’m older and that this is some kind of comeback tour or some kind of nostalgia thing. I have to do this, and I have to do it alone.
AJS – First of all, who in the holy hot butter of fuck gives a shit what they think? Shouldn't be you, that's for dang sure. That's what I mean by psyching yourself out. You care too much about what other people think, what they want for you, what they think you are, what they think you're doing…
{Smyth catches Roxi off guard and traps her arm, wraps it around into a hammerlock.}
AJS – Stop letting your guard down. Focus.
{Smyth kicks out her knee and let's Roxi fall to her other knee.}
AJS – Answer me this, Rox, why are you back? What do you think? What do you want? Who do you think you are?
Roxi – I came back, because I wanted to. I want to be the best. I want to win another championship, AJ. It’s as simple as that. And the results have been up and down. And for me that’s not acceptable. I need to be better. I should have BEEN a champion by now. Those are MY expectations. So obviously, something is wrong, and I need to be better.
AJS – Oh, fuck that. Everyone joins this sport to do that, win titles. Hell, even I did. But you know what happens when all you do is focus on titles?
{Smyth turns the hold deeper.}
Roxi – I’m not solely focused on that. I have to get better. I’m about to be in a gauntlet match against six other people. I’m out second which basically is the same as being out there first. I have to go through EVERYBODY. It’s a simple case of cardio, stamina, and energy. I have to be at my peak in those areas for this match.
{Roxi is able to get up off a knee and swing under AJ, reversing the hammerlock.}
AJS – Would you like me to call you…
{Smyth breaks the hammerlock by cartwheeling over and sliding through Roxi's legs.}
AJS – ...the wahh-bulance?
{Smyth gets Roxi into a full-nelson.}
AJS – Remember when I was going through this exact same shit a couple years ago?
{Roxi slides down and loosens the grip of AJ twisting and pulling AJ down with a backslide and let’s go.}
Roxi – I do. And I tried to help you, and now… now…
{Roxi thinks for a moment.}
Roxi – Now I’m doing the exact same thing you did. But it’s… it’s just that how can give advice and encouragement when I don’t have anything recent to show for it. A .500 record isn’t going to cut it when there’s people looking up to me.
{Smyth kicks Roxi in the gut, sending her backward.}
AJS – Complaining is draining!
{Smyth jumps to her feet.}
AJS – I came back from the worst record around and became a double world champion and triple champion. Because I listened to my friend, stopped caring about what other people thought, and just… wrestled.
{AJ straddles Roxi, sitting on her pelvis.}
AJS – You're not listening. Sometimes we need to take our own fucking advice. Sometimes we need to get back to just the basics, our core.
{AJ flicks her upside the forehead.}
AJS – Get out of there.
Smyth pushes her open palm against Roxi's chest, her heart.
AJS – And listen to this, my friend. You wrestle, you came back to this sport for the very same reason I did… Because it's what we live and breathe, it's who we are, it's in the very fabric of our being. Stop worrying about all this nonsense - wins, loses, who thinks what about what - and just wrestle.
{Smyth pushes Roxi's shoulders down.}
AJS – You forgot that part. You forgot how good for a wrestler you really are and how much fun you have in that ring. You overcomplicated it and it was all down the shitter from there. More importantly, get back up!
{Roxi pushes AJ off of her and sits up, resting her arms on her knees and her head ducked down.}
Roxi – What… what am I doing? I got lost in… lost in what really matters. I’m… I’m sorry AJ. I got wrapped up in way too much. I wanted to be the best and I’m obsessed and it’s hurting more than me at this point. I lost track of what mattered… I’m going to need a minute.
AJS – Are you going to cry? Should I get an adult? Keira! KEIRA! I think broke Roxi!
{Roxi sites there for a moment before getting up and placing a hand on AJ’s shoulder.}
Roxi – I’m sorry, AJ. I just wanted prove something to myself that I didn’t even need to prove.
{Smyth winks at her. Kiera at this point returns with the tea made for everyone.}
Keira – You guys okay?
Roxi – Yes.
AJS – Did you bring beer?
Keira – No. There’s no beer here. You’ve been here enough times to know that.
Roxi – Anyway… I need to apologize to both of you. And thank both of you. For showing me what I truly need to do.
Keira – That’s what friends and family are for.
AJS – Group hug!
{Even though somewhat sarcastic, the three do hug as the scene fades.}
Roxi – I know you want to help. I do appreciate it. But I promise I can do this on my own. I just feel like if I don't, then what did I accomplish, you know?
