Spiral Sues Valor Pro Wrestling
Luis Paez-Pumar
Nathan Gram, known to the world as Spiral, has filed suit against his employer, Valor Pro Wrestling, LLC, in response to their attempts to seize his entire salary for the remainder of the calendar. Mr. Gram was fined by Valor General Manager Vanessa Byrne as punishment for what has been called a “stunt-gone-wrong” which lead to a semi-truck ending up in the Indian Ocean and thousands of damage done to the streets of Durban, South Africa.
The lawsuit, which was filed in Orleans Parish Civil Court in New Orleans, claims that Valor Pro Wrestling has violated the 13th and 14th amendments by withholding his entire salary. In response, they are asking for his contract with Valor be null and void. Mr. Gram is also claiming ownership of the UNLEASHED championship belt, stating that he never signed over its rights to Valor Pro Wrestling contrary to public statements made by Vanessa Byrne.
Furthermore, Mr. Gram has filed for an emergency injunction against Valor to prevent them from seizing his salary until his lawsuit against Valor is resolved. That hearing will be held sometime this week. In the meantime, the legal battle between Valor and Spiral could drag on for months, even years.
Representatives at Valor were not immediately available for comment.
