6:32 p.m.
The local news cast for Jupiter, Florida suddenly glitches into focus. Allen Fannon, long time anchor for the six o’clock news comes onto the screen in a flash.
“We have breaking news coming from the recently condemned amusement park in Jupiter.” Fannon proclaims almost immediately.
“Rebecca Mann is at the scene, where protesters have gathered.” Allen further explains as the screen shifts from the news set to Mann alongside a gravel road. The cameraman quickly pans left to show the large gathering all around of protesters. “The Devil is NIGH!”, one sign reads in bright red. Rebecca gathers herself to take control of the live broadcast.
“Yes, Allen, we are here deep in the forest of Jupiter. Down this gravel road leads to the amusement park that has been condemned. Locals claim since Tommy Crimson’s return strange occurrences have taken place in record numbers county wide.” Mann states in a complete matter of fact manner.
“Do the Native Americans from the surrounding reservations wish for this park to be destroyed as well?” Fannon asks off camera to Mann.
“The city condemned the park two months ago and three petitions have passed unanimously to destroy this park. The Seminole tribe wants to put their loved ones at rest while also warning that this area must be “cleansed”.” Mann replies.
Rebecca steps directly in front of the camera to use the growing protesters behind her as a living backdrop.
“We are being kept about a quarter mile from the front gate. The police have cordoned off the area alongside the fire department. Jupiter’s most famous resident has yet to comment. Crimson arrived around two thirty at the park this evening after traveling from London.” Mann continues as a police helicopter flies over to interrupt the reporter.
The chopper films from overhead in a stream now stolen from a quarter mile away. The small police force have two helicopters and a swat truck for unknown reasons. Dirty politicians run this town and also want rid of Tommy Crimson. The camera from the stolen chopper feed continues until it flies toward the front gate. Police cars are all over with the fire department scattered throughout.
A straight line of people walk toward the front gate. The police do not stop them. A closer view reveals them to be Native American. Seminole to be exact. A man walks out front to lead them between all the police and fire department vehicles. River Echo, the chief of all these people.
The chopper continues flying leading the security cameras to pick up the filming in a seamless transition. The front gate has a large orange poster across it that reads, “CONDEMNED!”. The sheriff of Jupiter, Philip Small, stands at the front gate with a defeated look across his face.
Storm clouds gather overhead as the unfolding chaos continues. The security camera feed cuts from the front gate to inside the actual park. Rusty jagged metal sticks out in nearly every direction. Two vans sit inside the park with the engines running.
Most of the Fury Studios crew have left the area already. Tommy’s four best camera men remain along with three filming assistants. Eddie Murder walks out of the largest building of the park. He remains to steal feeds but all other hackers have split. Tommy’s remaining crew all fill up the two vans up with equipment. Murder walks over to see the load. The Fury suddenly struts out of the same building and over to the back of the vans to end up alongside Eddie.
“Why do you have all of the equipment loaded, Tommy?” Eddie asks with real curiosity.
Crimson grimaces a bit at being caught. He then turns to face Murder with the security cameras filming.
“We need it for the shoot in the ghost town.” Tommy lies.
“Fury Studios has three hundred dollars left out of the Netflix deal. It will all go under if they do not renew that show for another season.” Eddie reveals while choking up a bit.
Murder hands the three bills over to Crimson, who takes them. Tommy then peers into the back of the van then races over to inspect the other.
“Make sure you get the projectors. We must have it for this to work.” The Fury barks back at the building as a new chopper flies by overhead.
Eddie turns away to wipe a tear from one of his eyes. The realization that Crimson’s entire company could be gone after today even if they survive the impending doom outside the gates.
One of the cameramen pack out the most expensive projector that Tommy owns. The Fury watches him put it into the van. The three other cameramen quickly shut up all of the small production companies equipment. All the cameras, computers, and drones are packed. The backdoors are shut on the vans and the four men come around the side to face Crimson.
“You need to get to the filming sight in the alleyway. Set up all the equipment and wait for me there. We need to film tonight while we are still capable. Do you understand?” Crimson asks with a stiff demeanor.
All four of the men nod then drop their heads. Tommy bangs on the side of the van which leads his employees to pile into the vans. Crimson walks slowly toward the front gate as the storm clouds continue to gather above. The vans come racing down the middle of the park as Tommy pushes the iron front gate open to allow them passage. Dust flies as the camera men rush off north toward an abandoned town.
The security cameras that cover the entire park continue to film the unfolding scene. The sheriff approaches Crimson at the gate as he closes it swiftly. The two men come together at the gate.
“I can’t hold them back anymore, Tommy.” Sheriff Small exclaims with an urgency throughout his tone.
Crimson looks down the gravel road to see the Seminole people coming right at the gate. The sheriff continues to attempt to reason with The Fury.
“They have taken the legal avenue and all voted. This place must go, Crimson. Strange things continue to happen since you brought all of these evil relics here. The chief is even here!” Sheriff Small exclaims as he turns to point at River Echo, who approaches the gate.
“What the fuck do you want?” Tommy spouts at the chief.
Chief Echo does not change his expression but continues forward until he is alongside the sheriff at the gate. They both look through the iron bars at Tommy, who appears frustrated by all of this.
“My people’s bones remain beneath our feet. Their spirits shall not rest until this place is cleansed.” Echo replies through the rusty gate.
“Cleansed? What?” Crimson replies with questions of his own.
The chief leans in closer and in a short whisper simply replies, “By fire.”
A loud pop can be heard which gets all three mens attention suddenly. The sheriff and chief spin around to see the townspeople coming. The protestors are right alongside them. A sheriff’s deputy continues to fire his .38 into the air with the crowd paying him no attention. The religious sector of the growing crowd begins to light torches. The sheriff spins around to face Tommy through the gate once more.
“Tommy, they are about to set the park on fire. You need to leave now!” The sheriff begs The Fury sternly.
Crimson turns away slightly but the sheriff reaches between the iron bars of the gate to take hold of Tommy to pull him in close, “Our other helicopter is waiting outback to take you anywhere. Leave before they kill you.”
Sheriff Small then releases The Fury who nods before turning to walk away. The fire department rush to set the blaze before the crowd can. Crimson rushes over to the buildings out from the broken down rides. He begins to take the evil relics off the walls. Eddie Murder rushes into the frame.
“What are you doing?!” Eddie screams at Crimson.
“I have to save these relics. They must come with me.” Tommy reveals.
Murder watches Crimson fill his arms with relics that Tommy has dug up from all over the world. Time and money spent to gather all these items in one place.
Fire begins to lick up the side of the outer fence. A protestor with a lit sign is the culprit. The walls are caving in around the park. Crimson looks around to see another blaze start near the front gate. Chaos reigns supreme now. The sheriff has shuffled out of the way to allow this control burn to be anything but.
Tommy looks over at the steel willow tree that is full of his championship belts. Crimson drops the relics at the grim realization that everything is about to burn.
The Fury comes to life all of a sudden. He turns and takes off through the park. Eddie rushes to keep up. Crimson points at a body bag near a bird bath deep in the park.
“I will need that.” Tommy exclaims while never missing a step.
Murder quickly picks up the large body bag that contains a surprise for later. Crimson continues through the grass and past the makeshift command center. Tommy gets to the back gate and kicks it open swiftly. Eddie continues to follow closely with the body bag across his shoulder, weighing him down. The two men quickly rush through the woods at the back of the park toward an open field. A police helicopter sits in the field waiting for Crimson and Murder.
Eddie and Tommy get to the helicopter and the side door slides open suddenly! Two pilots inside usher Crimson in quickly. Eddie rushes to the back of the chopper after dropping the body bag. Murder takes something folded up from the back of his pants quickly. It’s a Fury Studios logo that he plasters over the Jupiter Police one. Eddie then hands Crimson a tablet with an early stolen copy of Frenzy’s recent video already playing.
Murder comes back to the sliding door as the blades start to turn. Crimson has the body bag open to reveal the ANTman sex doll that he’s dressed like Yensman. Tommy ties a noose around the neck then around the landing gear of the chopper. The Fury then lifts up the doll into the helicopter. FuryLand is now burning nearby.
Eddie comes back to the sliding door to find Crimson refusing to allow him onboard.
“No.” Tommy screams over the loud blades.
“Why?” Eddie replies in a scream.
Crimson leans in close to answer with a stone face, “I need leg room.”
Murder’s face turns from scared shitless white to furious flush red in a matter of seconds. Tommy pushes him face first away from the helicopter before sliding the door shut with a thud.
The crowd below has the entire park surrounded now. A pair of Seminoles catch Eddie and begin throwing punches as the helicopter lifts up into the air. Crimson slides the door open to kick the Maurice look alike out to hang. The Fury then looks up front at the pilot as he slams the door shut once more.
“I need to make an entrance and exit. How does two hundred sound for a good hour of work?” Tommy asks the underpaid pilots.
“Sounds good. Where are we headed?” The Pilot replies.
“We are going to the ghost town a mile outside of town. I need to be brought in to the old courthouses roof. Radio ahead and tell my guys, fuckhead, or no money.” The Fury exclaims while his life’s work burns below.
Crimson looks out the window of the chopper to see his coveted willow tree fall. Flames start to consume the entire park while the growing crowd below collectively rejoices. The chopper flies off to a SHOOTout.
