A haunting female scream echoes over a solid black screen suddenly. An inverted cross then glitches to life in the center of the void. The cross flashes before disappearing to reveal blurry alternating shots of what appears to be Tommy Crimson leaning in toward the camera.
“It’s time.” The Fury’s voice booms.
The picture begins to focus but a blurry haze frames the unfolding scene. Crimson is being filmed from a camera attached to whoever or whatever he’s speaking to. He faces down at the camera, that comes to life with shaking before rising up towards Tommy. The Fury appears to be facing a person that is at least five foot ten. The unknown individual has a camera strapped to them to film everything from the person’s point of view.
Crimson turns away from the camera as the environment all around becomes more clear. Voices can be heard in a foreign language. Japanese to be exact.
Tommy turns back toward the individual with a noose in his hands. The camera angle tilts slightly as if the unknown person bends forward to accept the rope. Crimson leans close to drape the rope over the shot and apparent neck of whoever this individual is.
The Fury fishes the piece of long rope out as the POV angle remains the only camera. The environment all around are of people with blurred faces. Voices translated from japanese to english. Actors paid to look and feel like those from Aokigahara’s life.
“Do you drink because you don’t you love me, father?” A child's voice calls out.
“You must kill yourself. It’s the only option with how you have dishonored your family. It’s tradition.” A deep voice bellows throughout.
Crimson takes the end of the rope to lead the unknown individual into the dark abyss. The people with blurred faces all around warp suddenly together to form a wide tunnel. The voices still call out but now many more do so. The camera continues to film from behind Crimson, who leads the POV cameraman by the rope toward the tunnel slowly.
The POV camera shakes and drifts from left to right with each step the unknown person takes to follow Crimson into this abyss of Aokigahara’s shortcomings.
A man that has lived many lives but failed in most of them outside of fighting.
The tunnel engulfs both, leading Tommy’s voice to echo throughout this environment. The POV camera pans from right to left to take in the awesome tunnel of failure. The voices cause whoever the camera is attached to shake with real fear. Tommy continues to pull the person by the neck with the rope toward the unknown.
“Turn back! It’s not too late!” A female’s voice screams out in Japanese.
The tunnel suddenly turns into a vortex of sorts. Different shots of Crimson’s previous work can be seen all around. From constructing the game changing gloves to showing in graphic detail on film, how he became an orphan. These are split up with all of Tommy’s victories in Valor Pro thus far to show he’s yet to be pinned. The two approach the end of the vortex as the shot directly in front of them glitches! A door swings up to reveal a city street! Dusk has begun to dim this side of the planet but the light reveals a long corridor that’s been painted green all over. The floor, walls, and ceiling have all been done to allow Crimson to create his own reality inside this old beat up long haul trailer.
The POV camera continues to film from the unknown persons perspective. Tommy leaps out of the trailer to then pull the individual down using his end of the rope.
The person exits the trailer behind Crimson to reveal the West Chicago and Livernois Avenue neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan. The blurry frame from inside the trailer fade away from around the POV camera angle slowly to denote this all being real and not some figment of The Fury’s vast imagination.
“I’m home.” Crimson declares.
Tommy pushes forward to continue to pull the unknown individual by the noose attached around their neck. The camera angle follows behind Crimson with the person yet to be revealed from this angle. The two travel down the street toward the setting sun in the most dangerous neighborhood in all of Michigan and maybe the entire US.
Fires are set in various places. Tonight is Devil’s Night. The night before Halloween has been one of the most dangerous nights to be in Detroit for half a century. In recent years, the crime has dropped but this year the city has come alive. Dirty drinking water with homelessness at an all time high has this entire city on edge. The pyromaniac inside of Tommy was groomed and molded right here.
The two men walk along while a few kids already trick or treat due to fear of being out tomorrow night. Smoke bellows from different areas within the neighborhood with one abandoned house already ablaze near the end of the block. Crimson continues to lead the unknown person straight ahead for a vacant lot. A tall oak tree sits in the center of the small field but nothing else. Its bark tattooed by different graffiti and scars across its rough hide from years of drive-by shootings.
Crimson leads the person beneath the tree. He glares up at a thick branch about eight feet off the ground before tossing his end of the rope up and over it. Tommy pulls the rope until the person begins to lift up off the ground! The point of view camera shows the true horror of being hanged in real time.
“I sat up against this tree and watched as they dug my little brother out of the ashes. He was melted to a car seat and not covered.” Crimson reveals as he continues to pull his end of the rope to hang whomever the camera is attached to.
A woman’s scream can be heard coming from a back alley. No doubt being sexually assaulted. Devil’s Night is officially in full swing. Gurgling noises and gasps can be heard coming from whoever Tommy hangs while filming down at him on the ground.
“I do know you.” The Fury states up at the person swinging left to right, choking to death.
“You visit random places to perform violent crimes with no repercussions. Now, you are cutting yourself like some fat emo teenager, who won’t get asked to prom to get her gash mashed. What gives?” Tommy asks the hanging person as if they were his next opponent.
A dumpster that’s on fire rolls by on the street behind Crimson. The camera attached to the unknown individual catches it. Tommy turns to watch it pass while still clutching the end of the rope tight. He turns back to face the camera with a sly grin to comment, “WWH is still touring? Who knew?”
Gunshots can be heard nearby but Crimson continues to yank on the rope leading the person with the POV camera to shake and swing, left to right. The Fury looks up at them with narrowing eyes and forehead wrinkled with honest disgust.
“I want us to go down in history as the greatest deathmatch ever in Valor Pro. Madison Square Garden is the perfect venue to achieve just that. After 7 Pillars Two, Tommy Crimson and Aokigahara Zombie will be tied together forever in infamy. I will personally make sure of that.” The Detroit Devil proclaims while continuing to tug on the rope.
“I fear, one of us will not make it out alive. The sheer hatred between the two of us will fuel the demise of each of us. I accept that challenge and welcome it like no other before it.” Crimson continues to speak up at the hanging person.
“I find you repulsive. An old man that takes opportunities from younger and more talented wrestlers each and every show you appear on. A few weeks ago the staff mentioned on social media this being the most talented roster ever in Valor. The only real difference between now and then besides Cooper bailing is… Me. It will be left to me to take that Unleashed title so the younger talent can flourish.” The Fury boasts proudly knowing full well his presence led to such a comment.
The person finally goes completely limp. No more noise can be heard and the camera angle now does a slow and steady swing, left to right. Tommy ties the rope off on a low lying branch of the oak so he can stand back and admire this mindfuck.
‘I want to lead Valor Pro into the future. I want to be that beacon but I will need that torch you refuse to pass. So I will take it from your cold dead hands, Zombie. I don’t want to be your friend because I don’t fucking like you.” Crimson states while glaring up at the hanging mystery individual.
Suddenly Eddie Murder rushes into the street on the POV camera, ten feet behind Crimson. He carries a camera on his shoulder to show a different angle at long last. The shot shows Crimson from behind to finally reveal the unknown person. It’s a life size animatronic zombie that Eddie Murder was puppeteering the whole time, using the POV camera angle to hide. The zombie has been dressed in Aoki’s likeness but wears a solid white shirt that reads, “All Hype. No Bite.”. Tommy slowly turns to face Eddie’s camera. Gunshots and screams can be heard as smoke lingers throughout the neighborhood.
“You told me that I wouldn’t get under your skin in our first encounter, Aoki. You then revealed recently that I did do just that. You later claimed, that I could never survive inside your head after all you’ve been through? Bullshit. I will leave you changed from even attempting to dip into my psyche. I let you in on this journey so you could see what I’ve seen, Zombie. Could you have taken it? Could you have left your little brother to melt in a car seat like I did? No. You would have played hero and died, where I survive and thrive for making those decisions others are simply incapable of. That’s the true difference between the two of us. Perspective.” Tommy unleashes on the champion with the whole truth.
Tommy walks toward Eddie but stops short of entering the actual street. People have come out to watch on from all around the neighborhood now. The camera swings around and all of them have solid white eyes. All paying homage to The Detroit Devil on this night, his night, Devil’s Night.
“I came home to find myself, Aoki. This street is where it all began twenty seven years ago. I’ve come full circle because I am that fucking good. I know you watch me in awe and wonder how you could ever compete with my theatrical presentation. You can’t. I’m the entire package while you are a one trick pony that will soon be crippled. You know what that means.” Crimson finishes with a taunt, as if he were pumping a gun to put the old timer down.
The camera attached to the hanging zombie flashes into view. It shows a man wearing a mickey mouse mask come up to Eddie Murder. Murder’s sound picks up while the POV camera records.
“Give me all your money!?” Mickey Mouse screams at Eddie Murder while holding a gun on him.
“I don’t have any money, he won’t pay me!” Eddie replies while pointing at Tommy.
The Mickey Mouse crook then shoots Eddie in the shoulder! People begin running in every direction after the gun fire. Tommy turns to face the POV camera. He grins wide as chaos ensues all around. Mickey Mouse picks up the camera to steal it. The video turns back to that shot to show the criminals point of view escaping the scene. An inverted cross glitches across the screen while the camera rocks back and forth from the crook rushing off into Devil’s Night with it.
